Issues:

Infrastructure: Michelle is  concerned about the current condition of Centerline and Warren’s infrastructure as it pertains to future development. Insuring that the ground above and beneath is sound and ready for building new and improved buildings and structures from housing to retail throughout the Cities. The roads also must be built to handle the weight of future vehicle options as we move forward.

Aging Housing Stock: This is an issue that must be addressed immediately as we aim to remain the largest city in Macomb County and the third largest city in the State. Having homes with a solid foundation is a must. This will allow for rehabilitation of homes as opposed to demolishing.

Veterans Affairs: Nothing breaks my heart more than seeing a United States Veteran homeless in America. There must be adequate resources available to support these men and women who risked their lives for our freedom. I will continue to advocate for more services for them, especially in the areas of Housing and Mental Health. I would like to see more recognition given to them by acknowledgment and parades giving a BIG Thank You for your Service on their special Days of recognition.

School Safety and Improved Educational and Academic engagement for our children. I have been advocating for more financial literacy in schools beginning around the 3rd grade level. I also see a great need for enhancement in areas of the Arts, be it painting, singing, dancing or writing books or poetry.

Finally, more positive engagement with Law Enforcement, Military and Science. These are important not only for the safety of our existence but for the continuation of the greatness of our Nation and national securities. The sooner and more time we provide to engage our children at early stages the better chance of them choosing these vital areas as a career. We cannot afford to loose people in these sensitive areas.
